Lowe's How To's
Something a bit different, at Lowe's How To Create
Hardware Holiday Ornaments and Floral Arrangements. It's amazing what people can come up
with when they allow their creativity to run free. All it takes is a little imagination
and a willingness to put conventional thinking aside. The ornaments described at this site
are festive and decorative and they were constructed primarily of inexpensive and readily
obtainable hardware items. The ideas for them came about by strolling a Lowe's store with
a child's eye--an eye willing to see possibilities in the most unlikely of places and
objects. Go to Lowe's How To Page.

White House Holiday
1997 Celebrates Santa's Workshop
This year, the President and First Lady would
like the White House to reflect the December holidays as seen through the eyes of a child.
They chose Santa's Workshop as this year's holiday theme, to recognize the hopes and
dreams of our next generation. As in past years, the First Family has invited specific
groups and individuals from around the country to create ornaments to adorn the White
House Christmas Tree. Members of The Council of Fashion Designers, The National Needlework
Association, and the American Craft Council were invited to create ornaments depicting
characters or scenes from Santa's workshop. If your copy of the First Family's Christmas
Card got lost in the mail, here you can see what it looked like, and there's also a
collection of holiday recipes prepared by White House Chefs Walter Scheib III and Roland
Mesnier. Go to The White House.
